What is Wig Tape?

August 16,2022

Wig tape is an adhesive used to fix the wig to the scalp when worn. Wigs are designed for people who need or want to wear wigs regularly or temporarily. Therefore, it is a temporary adhesive used for wigs, rather than permanent hair bonding or replacement.

WIG TAPE

Like adhesive bandages, wig tape comes in various sizes and shapes.

Wig tape is double-sided, many are simple straight pre-cut tape. It can also be wound and cut to any desired length. Other shapes include curved and angled patches for the ears, the nape of the neck, and the front of the scalp. Most people stick the wig tape to the periphery and center of the wig and find that some wigs are better than others, which depends on the shape of their heads and wigs.

Be sure to use a durable adhesive, which can be used continuously during the wearing process to avoid embarrassing situations and enhance your confidence in fixing the wig. If your skin is particularly sensitive, it is best to test a little adhesive on the scalp first, and then apply it to the whole scalp.

Most wig tape adhesives are durable and can last for one day. Usually, some adhesive remains after removal. Adhesive removers specially designed to remove residues are available anywhere it is sold and are generally milder to the skin. However, isopropyl ethanol is also effective in removing residual adhesive, although it tends to dry the skin.

A wig tape supplier will also help you fit your wig and show the correct application of adhesives. We may also provide alternative forms of adhesive to help you find what is best for you.
